Trick Tip #3 - Double Spock
presented by Team Alchemy - photos by Luis
Set up:Flyer one is in a head down position in front of Flyer two. Flyer one should have his head at Flyer two's chest, close enough so that he will be able to dock Flyer two's head with a bend in his arm. Take time to learn this before moving on. You should be able to fly this position for as long as you want, without pulsing in & out OR up and down!
Common erros: NO set up: Flyer one carry;s forward momentum into Flyer two and they end up on top of each other.

Set up is too far away vertically, horizontally or both!

Part 1: Flyer one places hand on Flyer two's head. As Flyer one takes the dock he should push out with his legs for added strength.

Common erros: Flyer one gets tunnel vision on Flyer two's head, only thinking about the dock & forgetting to fly. Most commonly Flyer one forgets about his legs & just holds on for the ride!

Part 2: Flyer two pulls an arm in towards his body & brings his elbow down by his waist. Flyer two then docks Flyer one's head leaning back& driving his feet forward just enough to keep pressure towards the middle.

As soon as Flyer two docks he should push up on Flyer one's head. This push is the key to Flyer two being able to hold his feet down. Flyer two uses the push to have the power to push down on his feet & hold them strong.

Common erros: Flyer two reaches for Flyer one's head, leaning forward & causing tension through backsliding. Flyer two does not use Flyer one's head to gain the power needed to hold his feet down & his feet come out from underneath him.
