Trick Tip #2 -Rock the Cradle
presented by Team Alchemy - photos by Eli Thompson
Set up:Both Flyers sitflying
in front of each other just about touching toes with no movement.
Common erros: No set up! - people
still have forward drive going into the move which in turn causes
a lot of uncecessary seperation. Another common mistake is setting
up too far away from each other.
Starting the trick: The flyer
that goes under starts the trick. Flyer one
starts to stand with forward drive. Flyer
two tucks his knees to his chest front flipping following
Flyer one until both flyers are head
down in front of each other.
Common erros: Flyer going under
thinks too much about making the down motion. As soon as flyer starts
to speed up he needs to think about going through the other flyer.
Not down then - through, but one motion.
It's important at this point to
re-set up if any separation has occurred. Like in the beginning of
the trick any motion going into the trick will cause unnecessary separation.
Flyer one again starts the second part
of the trick by picking up speed and flying through the other flyer.
Flyer two brings his
knees to his chest and back flips following Flyer
one until both flyers are back in their original sit positions.
Common erros: Flyer going under thinks too much about
making the down motion.
As soon as flyer starts to speed up he needs to think
about going through the other flyer. Not down then - through,
but one motion.
Throughout this and all over under tricks both flyers need to be working
towards the center point of the two flyers. Keeping the center point
in one spot and working towards this point is the most important factor
in doing this move best.
Starting with half the move re-setting up, then the
second half, is a good idea for starting to learn this move. There
will be a small pause inbetween the two halves.
